Before their was electronic tattooing pens and ink, the Japanese tattooed using prickly pins and traditional ink. This form of tattooing is still done today and has grown quite a liking due to its vintage nature. Unlike electronic tattooing though, the process is pain stacking and long. The video above shows more on this art and thousand year old culture.
INTERVIEWER:
Hello how are you, talk to us about yourself
INTERVIEWEE: My name is Maurine Wambugu I am a student, I’m 17 years old. Am still a high school student and am in my fourth form and I like swimming it is my hobby and singing is my talent. The unquiet thing about me in school is that chemistry is the hardest subject. My classmates see it as the hardest subject but apparently I get A’s so for me it’s the most unique thing I have.
Then what I would tell other students out there is that they should not give up in chemistry, I know you get to high school and other students are like chemistry ningumu nakuambia( chemistry is hard I tell you). It is not hard you only need to read and you will pass,
Presenter: Today am here with Walter , who is an upcoming artist and also a student in Multimedia University?
Walter maybe you can tell us what made you to be a musician
Walter: Am walter as you said, a student doing bachelor in journalism,am a second year second semister student.
I started my music career back in high school but at that time it wasn’t that serious. I just wrote songs and sung them for entertainment and i also did it to entertain my PS back in high school but after completing my high school that is when it become serious.
I started recording them and posting them on YUOTUBE and variouse website where ou can post your music , that is when i started gaining the publicity
Presenter: How do you balance between schooling and music?
Walter: It is not easy but i do try because in University we have classes from Monday to Friday and i have the weekends Saturday and Sunday to concentrate on my music
That is how i balance like week days i concentrate on my education then weekends on my music.
Presenter: Does music pay?
Walter: Year music does pay but you have to work hard and be passistant like this days when i gain the publicity people now know me as a musician, some call me so that i can categorize for them.
I have dance some show with Nameless, Nonini, Nyashnziki
Interviewer : Kindly introduce yourself. Njoroge : I am Wanjiru Njoroge and am a third year student in Multimedia University pursuing journalism. Interviewer : Njoroge, what do you think about the merger proposal for universities. Njoroge : Am at a standstill where i both agree and disagree with it. I agree with it in the the perspective of students will be able to specialize in different courses in a specific environment where they’ll get a great education system where they will get a specialization. But i don’t really support because how do you implement such a thing in a short period of time. This is not something you can wake up today and make over a lapse of a short period of time. You have to consider things like monetary issues, distance issues, their are some students who you cant tell that because Multimedia University is a school for journalism they should get out of a place like Mombasa where they can get like a technical university to teach teach the same course and move them to Nairobi. How will you cater for all that? You know education is not free. Dorm systems are not free in Kenya unlike other countries so its still a hustle i do not believe that can work out. Interviewer : Do you think they’ll achieve this feat anytime soon? Njoroge : Not really, unless the implementation of a long period of time you have to consider the fact that people are still studying you cannot pause education and say that y’all stop at 1.2 move to another place so you can start you education system again from that specialization area, like maybe from Kisumu you move to Multimedia University to pursue journalism that is not really possible and another thing i don’t think it will be fair to the workers this is cutting on jobs for people, once a university is closed people will not be able to get normal jobs where they used to get. Interviewer : OK thank you fro speaking to me Njoroge Njoroge : You are welcome.
Antony: can you please tell us your name? My name are Kevin Omweri. mi ni msee wa Ronga(iam from Rongai) napenda skating(i love skating) sana sana (mostly) utanipata tu(you will find me) relaxing in the evening after hustles zangu(my daily hustles). Antony: why skating? Kevin:For me skating is fun, it also saves me money sometimes nkiwa nmesota(when iam broke) mi uskate (i skate) from one place to another and it helps me keep fit badala ya kwenda kutafuta pesa ya kwenda gym(instead of getting money to join the gym) this is what i do its fun for me.
Antony; why on the street na si place ingine(and not any other place?)
Kevin:Tunafanyia streets because ndo place utapata kuna lami roadi ni smooth(we do it on the streets because its the only place you will get tarmaced and the roads are smooth) hakuna place ingine unaweza fanyia ivi (there is no other place you can do this) labda gava itujengee places we can do this (may be the government can build us places to skate). Gava ingetusaidia sana hapo(the government could really help us ) ingetujengea meib stadium ama uwanja yoyote tunaweza practisia may be inaweza saidia for now streeets ndo tu tunaweza practisia.( the government could build us stadiums or any other place we can practise may be it could help but for now we can only practise on the streets.)
Antony:Is skating only for boys?
Kevin: Skating any one can do hakuna mwenye hawezi fanya (no one who cannot do). it is free for anyone basically the art of balancing usianguke(so that u can’t fall) as for me nmefundisha madame wengi( i have taught alot of girls) at a price ofcourse. As far umevalia (you are wearing) headgear, knee gear, protectors vile tu ukianguka hutaumia(so that you won’t hurt yourself incase you fall) nmefundisha mpaka watoto hapa(i have taught even kids here) its free for anyone to try it out anyone cane do this.
