Upclose with skating maestro

Antony gitonga

Antony: can you please tell us your name?
My name are Kevin Omweri. mi ni msee wa Ronga(iam from Rongai) napenda skating(i love skating) sana sana (mostly) utanipata tu(you will find me) relaxing in the evening after hustles zangu(my daily hustles).
Antony: why skating?
Kevin:For me skating is fun, it also saves me money sometimes nkiwa nmesota(when iam broke) mi uskate (i skate) from one place to another and it helps me keep fit badala ya kwenda kutafuta pesa ya kwenda gym(instead of getting money to join the gym) this is what i do its fun for me.

Antony; why on the street na si place ingine(and not any other place?)

Kevin:Tunafanyia streets because ndo place utapata kuna lami roadi ni smooth(we do it on the streets because its the only place you will get tarmaced and the roads are smooth) hakuna place ingine unaweza fanyia ivi (there is no other place you can do this) labda gava itujengee places we can do this (may be the government can build us places to skate). Gava ingetusaidia sana hapo(the government could really help us ) ingetujengea meib stadium ama uwanja yoyote tunaweza practisia may be inaweza saidia for now streeets ndo tu tunaweza practisia.( the government could build us stadiums or any other place we can practise may be it could help but for now we can only practise on the streets.)

Antony:Is skating only for boys?

Kevin: Skating any one can do hakuna mwenye hawezi fanya (no one who cannot do). it is free for anyone basically the art of balancing usianguke(so that u can’t fall) as for me nmefundisha madame wengi( i have taught alot of girls) at a price ofcourse. As far umevalia (you are wearing) headgear, knee gear, protectors vile tu ukianguka hutaumia(so that you won’t hurt yourself incase you fall) nmefundisha mpaka watoto hapa(i have taught even kids here) its free for anyone to try it out anyone cane do this.

Antony: thank you for your time.
